Drug treatment options
If you have experienced an osteoporotic (minimal trauma) fracture and have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, your doctor may recommend that you take medication to increase your bone strength and decrease your risk of future fractures.
Vitamin D and calcium supplements are often recommended at the same time as osteoporosis medication.
